Crew Wanted! Boat Delivery, Cruise- Wrightsville Beach, NC, United States dest. South Boston, MA, United States
Wrightsville Beach, NC, United States
4/16/2025
South Boston, MA, United States
4/30/2025
I'm looking for 2-3 crew to help me sail from Wilmington NC (Wrightsville Beach) to Boston MA.
I'm expecting to arrive in Wrightsville Beach and drop off my current crew there around 4/15. I plan to hang out there and wait for new crew and good weather before continuing up the coast.
I'm not doing this on a fixed schedule, we'll prioritize safety and comfort of the crew. So, if we have good weather and the crew is up for it, the optimistic estimate is that it'd be about a five day offshore passage. In the more likely event that we choose to make some stops (for fun, to wait for weather, drop off / pick up crew, get more rest, or whatever), then it will probably take closer to 7-10 days or more.
Possible routes: There are lots of possibilities! We could theoretically go straight from NC to Buzzards Bay and through Cape Cod Canal if the stars align, but we may choose to make stops at Beaufort, Cape May, Sandy Hook, Block Island, etc. We could also take the ICW from Beaufort to Norfolk. I'm not planning to go up the Chesapeake and back down Delaware Bay, but we can do that if it makes the most sense for the weather.
The boat is pretty easy to sail and manage singlehanded under autopilot, so my main expectation of crew is simply to help stand watches, including night watches (2-3 hour shifts), so everybody can get plenty of rest and time to relax and enjoy the trip. I am hoping to do some remote work via Starlink for my real-life job while we're on the go, and crew is also welcome to bring their work. This is my first time doing this trip, so it will be a good adventure!
You don't need extensive offshore sailing experience to join. We use jacklines and tethers at all times offshore, both in the cockpit and on deck; please bring a harness if you have one.
I'm happy to help cover costs for travel and expenses aboard within reason. Please reach out!

LEARN AT THE HELM!
Please see below and contact me for more details. Thanks
We start at 5:00 on Tuesdays. We will meet on the deck at Hamilton Creek Marina. (Hamilton Creek Marina is part of the Metro Nashville Park system.)
There will be a discussion on various topics led by one of our volunteer skippers, followed by on the water sailing with one of our volunteer skippers.
Several skippers will be available to take crew on board
You’re cordially invited to come join us for our Learning at the Helm (LATH) program. This introductory sailing program is open to anyone (18 and older) with an interest in sailing. There is no charge, and, you will actually get out on the lake and go sailing.
WHAT IS “LEARNING AT THE HELM” ALL ABOUT?
The goal of LATH is to share our passion for sailing with the Nashville community and to promote member involvement within the Percy Priest Yacht Club (PPYC).
This is a very fun weekly club program for everyone. Besides giving newcomers a great way to try out a new hobby, we all have a great time enjoying a sunset cruise on the lake. Our fun-filled LATH events give everyone a chance to experience the thrill of sailing.
LATH is also a great way to meet a welcoming bunch of new friends, who are eager to share the joys of sailing.
