I found coboaters easy to use and a reliable way for boat owners and crew to meet. I've had half a dozen conversations with owners about joining them as a crew member. Due to schedule conflicts only one of those conversations resulted in me crewing on a boat, but the ability to talk with that owner as much as I wanted to before joining him made my time on board much better because we both had a good idea of what to expect from the other person. Coboaters allows me to browse profiles for boats and their owners, contact whomever I choose, and after sailing leave reviews of the owners I sailed with ... and they get to review me as well. I am a satisfied Coboaters member, and plan to keep using the site to help launch other sailing adventures. Aloha!
I had a great first experience using Coboaters and found a day sailing trip in RI only a couple of days after becoming a member. I am very new to sailing so having the ability to find sailors who are gracious enough to allow you on their (sometimes very expensive) boats and teach you a thing or two is amazing. I also learned a lot from other crew members who had a very wide range of experience, and also happened to meet the Coboaters founder, Phil, who couldn't have been nicer. I can see how easy it will be to maintain and expand a network of sailors and friends using this site, so I'm really glad to have found it!
Coboaters is an invaluable platform for sailors looking to crew.
It is my primary resource, & has afforded me the luxury to sail aboard some very fine vessels & meet extraordinary sailors.
My seamanship has also improved thanks to Coboaters; insofar as familiarization of different sailboats & the subtleties they present while handling them in various wind/weather conditions. Moreover, the various Sailors & Skippers I have met have offered irreplaceable knowledge on sail trim & race tactics.
I'm looking forward to future interactions with Coboater folks & partaking in this beautiful skill-set we call sailing. Fair winds & following seas!

Phil and the Coboaters team,
Love the work you're doing, we've referred several people to the site. Looking forward to meeting you at the Annapolis Boat Show.
