Hello sailors, I need to buy a Personal Flotation Device for my family (2 kids and 2 adults). How to choose and select the best one?

It depends what you kind of sailing you want to do. Offshore or Coastal?

Hi Phil, Thanks for your reply. I sail coastal and never overnight. We usually go out for a day and anchor or stay in a marina for the night. JY

Choose light PFDs especially for your kids. You do not necessarily need to have a tether if you do not sail overnight. Select the right size for the weight and age of your kids. Another tip, write the name of the person on the PFD to make sure they wear the right one. It also useful if you sail with others or jump on another boat as many PFDs look alike. Happy sailing!

ok thanks. I choose the Stearns youth Classic for the kids. Simple and in budget. Very to wear and adjust. It is good for them. I took Spinlock Deckvest lite Plus for the adults (3 on board). let's go sailing now!
