About me
I've always been drawn to the water, but my ambitions far outweigh my experiences. I've been enthralled with sailing for about a year and half now since my wife and I took a sunset cruise on The Tallship Manitou on Lake Michigan (out of Traverse City). Since then, I've watched countless Youtube instructional and entertainment videos, read a few sailing instructional books and memoirs, purchased my own trailer/sailor, passed ASA 101, and should have ASA 103 done before the 2023 summer season. I've been out a dozen or so times over the last year on small Colorado lakes and have absolutely loved it, but I NEED BIGGER WATER! My kids are almost out of the house, and I'm looking for that "thing" that's going to delivery me from the doldrums of mid-life; I believe I've found it in sailing and cruising.
It appears as if I'm headed down the path of the single-handed sailor as my family does not express much interest, which is okay because I enjoy solitude, but I also thoroughly enjoy the company of others when there is a shared passion and the opportunity to exchange knowledge.
Routine and office chairs are far more dangerous than any adventure could ever be!
